Nicolas Ducimetière
Research: Handwritten Manuscripts
With a Master’s in history and DEA in modern letters, Nicolas Ducimetière served as curator at the Barbier-Mueller Museum from 2004 to 2013, where he displayed to the public for the first time the typographical fleurons of this important poetry library in the exhibits Mignonne, allons voir… (Bodmer Foundation, then the Château de Chantilly) and a publication of the same name (Hazan, 2007). He is also a member and secretary of the board of the Fondation Barbier-Mueller pour l’étude de la poésie italienne de la Renaissance (Barbier-Mueller foundation for the study of Italian Renaissance poetry) at the University of Geneva since 2006. Author or scientific editor of several books and articles on the French Renaissance (including Poètes, princes & collectionneurs [Poets, Princes and Collectors], Droz 2011), he has also led several scientific projects, notably of the exhibition Alexandrie la Divine (Bodmer Foundation, 2014). Named Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres in 2010, he has been vice-director of the Martin Bodmer Foundation since 2012.
