Three-Dimensional Digitising

In Spring 2015, the Bodmer Lab hosted in its digitisation centre, under the aegis of the Martin Bodmer Foundation, a pilot project of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, EPL): Artmyn. Loïc Baboulaz and Julien Lalande spent several weeks testing their three-dimensional digitisation technology on a wide array of documents from the Bodmer collection. The results were fascinating, and they have prompted us to reflect on the potential scholarly uses for this kind of computer modelling of cultural objects.

Since then, Artmyn has become a celebrated international start-up (www.artmyn.com).
